Last summer, my husband Tom and I took a much-needed vacation with our two kids. When our flight home landed, I called Tom, expecting him to pick us up. Instead, he casually said, \u201cI ran into my old childhood friend Mike. We\u2019re catching up.\u201d Tom promised to be there in a couple of hours.\n

The next weekend, Tom hosted a poker night. I prepared everything, then left, saying, \u201cYou\u2019ll manage, right?\u201d Hours later, Tom texted frantically: \u201cThe kids are driving me crazy!\u201d When I returned, the house was a disaster, and Tom admitted, \u201cI don\u2019t know how you do it.\u201d\n

That night, we had a long talk. Tom apologized and promised to be more involved. He started helping with the kids, planning family activities, and sharing responsibilities. On our next family trip, Tom handled everything, and we had a wonderful time. Our relationship strengthened, and we became a more united family.\n
